IRC Expands Growing Church in Santa Ana, Honduras
It is inspiring what can be done in such a short period of time, with some resources and a bunch of motivated people. This summer, the church building in Santa Ana was expanded to accommodate their growing congregation, as they couldn’t all fit into the building for morning worship.
Three different TORCH Missions groups worked tirelessly alongside the members of the Santa Ana church to accomplish this goal. The work started at the beginning of June, the land had to be cleared for the expansion, including trees cut down, stumps dug up, leveling the ground, and the foundation base built.
Large rocks for the foundation were moved from other parts of the property to help build the foundation. Cement was mixed many times first for the foundation rocks, then for the walls and the floor. The roof and metal to hold up the roof were the last to be added. The finished expansion was ready on Sunday, July 22nd, where the chorus from Baxter Institute sang to a packed building for the dedication.
