Reach 1 Teach 1

Reach One Teach One (R1T1) is a Christ-centered initiative based in Honduras dedicated to building sustainable communities through faith, practical skills, and opportunity. We exist to break cycles of poverty by equipping individuals with the tools they need to provide for their families, lead with purpose, and transform their communities. What makes R1T1 unique is that we do not focus on short-term aid, but on long-term solutions that create independence, dignity, and generational impact.

At R1T1, we believe that real change happens when people are empowered. Through vocational training, job creation, and discipleship, we are raising up leaders who are not only capable of working but are also equipped to teach others. This multiplication model is at the heart of everything we do. When one life is changed, it impacts a family, and when families are strengthened, entire communities begin to thrive.

Our work includes operating a growing trade school, building affordable housing through our RapiBloq block system, developing sustainable food systems, and hosting mission teams that actively participate in the transformation taking place on the ground. Each part of R1T1 is connected and designed to support a larger vision of self-sustaining communities where people no longer rely on outside aid but instead become providers, builders, and leaders.

We invite you to be part of what God is doing through R1T1. Whether you choose to give, visit, or partner with us, you are stepping into a mission that is changing lives in a lasting and meaningful way.

About Reach 1 Teach 1

Reach One Teach One was founded on a simple but powerful principle: if you reach one person and teach them, they can change their entire future and influence countless others. What began as a vision has grown into a movement focused on equipping individuals both spiritually and vocationally so they can build sustainable lives and transform their communities from within.

Our mission is to develop leaders who are grounded in faith, skilled in their work, and committed to serving others. We believe that true transformation is not just economic but spiritual, and that lasting change comes when both are addressed together. By combining discipleship with hands-on training, we are creating a model that produces both strong individuals and strong communities.

Our vision is to see self-sustaining communities established across Honduras where families thrive through faith, opportunity, and purpose. We are actively working toward building environments where education, employment, housing, and spiritual growth all function together in a unified system that supports long-term success.

R1T1 is led by Dalton and Jen Hines, along with a dedicated team of local leaders, teachers, and partners who share a passion for serving others and building something that will outlast any one individual. Together, we are committed to creating opportunities that empower people to rise above their circumstances and step into the life God has called them to live.

What We Do

At R1T1, everything we do is centered around creating sustainable opportunities that lead to long-term transformation. Our trade school provides hands-on training in practical skills such as welding, carpentry, barbering, electrical work, and technology. These are not just classes, but pathways to real employment and entrepreneurship, allowing students to earn income and support their families with dignity.

In addition to training, we operate our RapiBloq block production and construction program, which produces interlocking blocks used to build affordable, durable homes. This program not only provides housing for families in need but also creates jobs and business opportunities for those involved in the production and construction process. It is a system designed to sustain itself while continuing to expand its impact.

We are also developing sustainable food systems through initiatives such as tilapia farming, plant nurseries, and future aquaponics projects. These efforts are aimed at addressing food security while also creating additional income streams within the community. By integrating agriculture into our model, we are strengthening the foundation of long-term sustainability.

Through Torch Missions, we host teams from around the world who come to serve alongside us. These teams play an important role in building homes, supporting projects, and encouraging the community, while also experiencing firsthand what it means to be part of something greater than themselves.

At the core of all these efforts is discipleship. We are committed to investing in people spiritually by providing mentorship, teaching biblical principles, and developing leaders who will carry this mission forward. Everything we do is rooted in faith and driven by a desire to see lives transformed both now and for generations to come.

Impact & Stories

The impact of R1T1 is seen most clearly in the lives of the people we serve. Individuals who once had no direction are now skilled workers with steady income and renewed purpose. Families who once struggled to survive are now living in stable homes with hope for the future. Students who entered with uncertainty are now leaders who are teaching others and multiplying what they have learned.

This transformation goes beyond physical changes. It is not just about building houses or creating jobs, but about restoring dignity, instilling purpose, and strengthening communities from the inside out. Each story represents a life that has been changed, and each life changed contributes to a larger movement of transformation that continues to grow.

As R1T1 expands, so does the impact. What started with a few individuals has grown into a community of people working together to create lasting change. The results are visible not only in the structures being built but in the confidence, leadership, and faith of those who are part of this mission.

Get Involved

There are many ways to be part of what is happening through R1T1, and every person who gets involved plays a role in the transformation we are seeing. One of the most powerful ways to experience this work is by joining a mission trip. Visiting Honduras allows you to step into the story, serve alongside the team, and see firsthand the impact being made in the community.

Partnership is another key way to get involved. Churches, organizations, and individuals can come alongside R1T1 to help expand the reach and effectiveness of the mission. These partnerships enable us to grow, take on new projects, and reach more people with opportunities that change lives.

Giving is also a vital part of sustaining and expanding the work. Every contribution directly supports training, construction, community development, and discipleship. It is not simply a donation, but an investment in people, in families, and in the future of entire communities.
