IRC Starts Water Well Project Number Three

InterAmerican Restoration Corporation recently received funding to start their third water well project in Honduras. The first two water well projects have been successful in bringing much needed fresh water to two communities that had never had fresh water before. The new water well will provide water to the people of Coa Abajo, a small village northeast of Tegucigalpa. Coa Abajo is home to roughly 300 people, all of whom are currently living in poverty.
IRC is partnering with the Department of Agriculture in identifying the rural villages that are most in need of water resources. Coa Abajo was near the top of the list.

“It is our hope that this water well will do for the people of Coa Abajo what the wells in Tierra del Padre and Ojojona have done,” shared IRC Executive Director Tim Hines. “The wells in those communities have made life remarkably easier for the people there, especially the women. It has also opened up new opportunities for IRC to come in and provide even more resources. It is amazing to see the restoration that has begun to take place in both villages.”
