IRC Continues the Campaign to Feed People in Honduras
As most people in the world are feeling the weariness of being confined to their homes, there are so many of you who are helping those in need, as you help fund the Food Program that IRC has been doing in the surrounding areas of Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We are so humbled, and pleased with the response, as we attempt to help out those who cannot get to a grocery store, as public transportation is the only hope of getting there, and it has been shut down since the beginning of the quarantine.
Each food bag contains the following: 8 bouillon cubes, 1 pound of lard, 2 packages of tomato paste, 1 package of salt, 1 package of sugar, 2 packages of spaghetti, 2 packages of coffee, 1 bag of rice, 1 bag of beans, 1 bag of maseca (corn flour they use to make tortillas), and 3 packets of soup mix.
Dalton Hines, along with other local Hondurans, have been packing up food, and passing it out to those in need, and we are so excited to say that we are at 94% of our goal of $24,000. The latest towns that have received food this week are Isopo, Blvd. Kennedy, and Diamante.
