The Honduras Project Distributes School Supplies

“An education should not be a luxury item.  Poverty should not keep a child from going to school or engaging in his or her education, anywhere or ever.  When it becomes a luxury a family cannot afford, they have no way out and generational poverty sets in and holds on. People ask us “Can’t they go to school if they don’t have a uniform or a filled supply list?”.  The answer is yes, but without being equipped with the resources to learn, children disengage and eventually stop going…wouldn’t you?   When we can hand a child a uniform, they can walk into school with pride feeling like they belong. When we can hand a child their books and supplies, they can engage in their education. It truly makes all the difference in generational poverty. “     -Mark Connell

Every January, The Honduras Project, run by Mark and Lori Connell, facilitate the Back-to-School program in Honduras.  There really is no effective way to communicate the impact this program continues to have on so many students and communities.  Mark and Lori believe strongly that education is the best way to break the cycle of extreme poverty.  Educating the next generation is the path to a different future and The Honduras Project is committed to that future for the people of Honduras.
