IRC Supports Education in Schools in Tegucigalpa, Honduras

In early August, IRC and TORCH missions hosted a Book drive to help grow a school library for the children to learn English.  IRC and TORCH partnered with the Sonquest team to sponsor the Book Drive.  The attendees were asked to bring either bilingual books or the same book in both Spanish and English to the event.  There were over 100 books donated and we will be delivering the books in the upcoming month as school begins for the children in Tegucigalpa.  The books will be a beautiful addition to the library & will help the English teacher greatly to teaching the children in both languages.

IRC has also given all three TORCH sponsored Schools bilingual bibles and support the English teachers in these schools to teach both English and Bible.  The school year in Honduras begins in the upcoming month and currently there is a team from Tupelo, Mississippi there delivering backpacks, books, and uniforms to the area schools.
